How Mukani began
Mukani began with an urgent, personal need: to return to plants, to the medicine that sustained our grandmothers, and to the knowledge that has accompanied women across Latin America for generations.
I wanted to offer something genuinely good for my skin, my family's skin, and the world around me.
What began as a personal study of alchemy, botany, and art became a project bringing together botanical perfumes, jewelry, and oils for the skin. Each piece begins with carefully chosen materials and attention to the whole process.
Mukani exists thanks to people who have generously shared their knowledge: distillers, master jewelers, and growers whose work is closely tied to the land.
In time, my sister Carla joined the project, bringing structure, clarity, and order as it grew. She keeps things moving and organizes the work so the vision can take shape with precision.
Mukani connects inherited knowledge with the present, plants with skin, and objects with the body.
A practice of beauty, attention, and genuine care.

THE MATERIAL'S JOURNEY
Each piece begins with close attention to its materials and how they change.
Following the rhythms of the land.
By hand, guided by the season and intuition.
Giving the aroma time to develop.
Letting each material keep its character.
